Covenant High School, founded in 1992, is an accredited and state-approved, college-preparatory day school for grades 9 through 12. Student population is 91 in grades 9-12 and the average class size is 20 students.

  • Our underclassmen take the Terra Nova Standardized Achievement Test each spring; over the last three years they have ranked in the top 10% nationally.
  • Over the last three years, our students’ SAT scores (combined critical reading, math and writing) place them as a group in the top 18% of college-bound seniors nationally.
  • Since 2000, when the Superintendent of Public Instruction began to annually honor the top 10% of college-bound seniors in the state, 40% of our graduating seniors have been named Washington State Honor Awardees.
  • Typically, nearly all of our graduates go on to college – approximately 75% attend four-year colleges and 25% attend community college.

CHS’s rigorous curriculum is centered upon a thorough exploration of the classics of English literature. Our students develop their skills by reading, thinking and writing about the great themes of the classic authors. Strong math, science, history, Bible and Spanish courses complete the core curriculum. Electives in computer web design and mobile phone applications, fine arts and Latin are offered.

Well Qualified Faculty

80% of the Covenant High School faculty hold post-graduate degrees. Our highly qualified and experienced educators are committed to academic excellence and the spiritual nurture of students. 90% of the faculty has over 5 years of teaching experience.

Writing Awards

CHS student writers have excelled in local, regional, and national competitions.

  • World Trade Center essay competition – top award two years in a row.
  • Our Own Words, regional poetry and fiction contest – CHS students repeatedly outperformed students from any other high school in the region.
  • CHS has repeatedly been awarded “The Poetic Achievement Award” by the national organization Creative Communications and has been eligible for language arts grants based on the high number of student poets published in anthologies of student poetry.
