Professing Christian young people having at least one parent who professes faith in Christ and is in regular attendance of a Christian church, as well as believing young people sponsored by a Christian ministry, are eligible to apply for admission. Covenant seeks to serve the whole Christian community and maintains a student body from many different churches. CHS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to CHS students. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the admission policies, scholarship and other school-administered programs.

Application for Admission

Covenant High School is a Christ-focused community of students that embrace academic excellence. We are excited to receive your application. Please reach out to Admissions and Marketing Director, Logan Hope at (253) 759-9570 ext. 1 or lhope@chstacoma.org with any questions during this process.

Step 1. Complete and submit all parts of the admissions packet.  This includes the following:

  • Parent questionnaire
  • Student questionnaire
  • Application fee ($75.00 non-refundable)

Step 2. Send the church reference form to your pastor. They are to complete the form and return it directly to Covenant High School.

Step 3. Send the school reference form to your current school. The school is to complete the reference form and attach a photocopy of 7th and 8th grade school records. This is to be returned directly to Covenant High School. If homeschooling, parents should produce a report card and complete the school reference form.

Step 4. An admissions interview for the student and at least one parent or guardian will be arranged.

Step 5. All applicants will be tested. Testing takes place on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 3:30 pm. Students may arrange an earlier test date if they prefer or if they have a conflict.

Step 6. If all steps have been completed by the test date of January 29, 2020 an admissions decision will be made by the first week of February. After January 29, 2020 admissions is rolling, and decisions will be made within two weeks after all steps in the process have been completed.

Health Records

All students attending CHS must be current on immunizations and free from infectious diseases. Certificates of immunization and a completed health record sheet must be on file in the school office by the first day of school.
