Professing Christian young people having at least one parent who professes faith in Christ and is in regular attendance of a Christian church, as well as believing young people sponsored by a Christian ministry, are eligible to apply for admission. Covenant seeks to serve the whole Christian community and maintains a student body from many different churches. CHS admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to CHS students. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the admission policies, scholarship and other school-administered programs.

Application for Admission

  • Please download and print the “Admissions Packet” which contains the necessary forms in PDF format — the Student Application, the Parent Application, and the two reference forms – or call the office and request the packet be mailed to you.
  • Fill out and return the student and parent applications with the non-refundable $50.00 application fee. You will need to consent to follow the guidelines in the student/parent handbook (click on student handbook on the About page)
  • Give the church reference form to your minister and have him mail it directly to Covenant High School.
  • Give the school reference form to your current school officials and have them mail it directly to CHS along with copies of the last two years of report cards and standardize tests results.
  • Send completed forms to:
    Covenant High School
    620 S. Shirley St. Tacoma, WA 98465
  • Once all forms are in, an admission interview will be arranged.
  • Applicants for the freshman class will take an admissions test.
  • Students approved for admission will be guaranteed a seat only after the registration fee is paid.

Current CHS students must re-register each year. A space will be guaranteed only if the student registers before the assigned deadline (normally in March) and pays the registration fee. There is no application fee for returning CHS students. Students who have demonstrated a pattern of poor effort, disruptive behavior, or a negative attitude may not be allowed to re-register.

There is no book fee; all textbooks are the property of CHS. Students are expected to maintain books in good repair and return them at the end of the semester. Fines will be assessed for lost or damaged books.

Health Records

All students attending CHS must be current on immunizations and free from infectious diseases. Certificates of immunization and a completed health record sheet must be on file in the school office by the first day of school.
