Chamber Choir Students Sing “Gather at the River”

In the beautiful hymn, “How Can I Keep From Singing?”, I am reminded of these words:

“What though my joys and comforts die,

I know my Savior liveth.

What though the darkness gather ‘round?

Songs in the night He giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm

While to that refuge clinging.

Since Christ is Lord of heaven and earth

How can I keep from singing?”

Friday, May 15, 2020 would have been the night of our Spring Concert and Art Show, and in God’s providence, we find ourselves in the midst of not just cancelled events but complete uncertainty about the future.

In the midst of “tumult and strife”, we want to remind you of our Savior, who gives us “songs in the night”, who is Lord of heaven and earth, and who is able to give us peace in the midst of storms so that we may say “It is well with my soul”.

Thank you to all the CHS Chamber Choir students who participated in this video and to Jonathan Gross, a CHS alumni, who put all of the audio and visual together. Together, they sing “Gather at the River” arranged by Susan Labarr.

May it be a balm to your soul and remind you of the hope we have in the One who loves us and works all things together for our good.

Standing on His promises,

Melissa McMillan
