Covenant High School Welcomes Mr. Pedro Moura, Science Faculty, from Brazil

Covenant High School is thrilled to welcome Mr. Pedro Moura, from Sao Paulo, Brazil, as a new science faculty member. Mr. Moura was initially hired in March, 2021. Covenant immediately began assisting Mr. Moura in obtaining his U.S. visa, and the community consistently prayed for a smooth process and move for him and his wife, Marina. Finally, we are delighted to announce that he began teaching in-person on December 9, 2021.
Mr. Moura spoke of his experience: “During the past few months since we started this journey, my wife Marina and I have experienced the grace and providence of our Lord in ways that we can’t even describe. We are thrilled to be here and experience the amazing community surrounding Covenant High School! I believe that Christian education is paramount if we want to raise our children to be ambassadors of Christ wherever they go. So, I look forward to contributing to Covenant’s mission to help form students who, above all, seek to ‘glorify God and enjoy Him forever’!”
Mr. Moura holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master’s Degree of Science in Biology from State University of Sao Paulo, and he is completing a Master’s Degree of Divinity in Theological Studies from Mackenzie Presbyterian University. Mr. Moura has been pursuing additional professional development through the Discovery Institute in Seattle and has taught several courses to high school and college students in chemistry and biology. He now lives in Gig Harbor, Washington, with his wife, Marina; and enjoys running, playing chess, and reading books about science and faith.
