Covenant High School’s Christmas Choir Video

Dear Covenant Community,

I would be lying if I didn’t say that this has been a difficult time for choir to thrive. But this time has not come upon us by accident, and just like so many other things that have been affected during COVID, we find a way to move forward, by God’s grace. Now, more than ever, is the time to pursue beauty and joy and ways to fill our souls with God’s gifts, one of them being music.

So we await with hope the time that we can all sing together in one room and be transported by the harmonies that are created (which is just a little foretaste of heaven). But while we wait, we fight to continue to find ways to share the hope that we have in Christ during these uncertain times. We share the longing that we have for His second Advent, but we find joy in the love that He showed in the First Advent, in sending His beloved Son.

May this virtual recording of “O Come Emmanuel” cause you to rejoice for God is with us!

Merry Christmas and may the peace of Christ fill you with joy this holiday!

In Christ,
Mrs. Melissa McMillan, Choir Director

Acknowledgements

Thank you so much to the Covenant choir students. The process of recording is not easy, as every single student has to sing their part by themselves. I am so proud of them!

Thank you also to Noëlle and Nicolas Robert’s, Covenant alumni, for their beautiful cello playing, and to Jonathan Gross for using his expertise to put this final video together!
